Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Are you feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or stuck? Are you struggling to cultivate healthy relationships where you care for others, but not at the cost of self-care? I would like to hear from you. Every life experience no matter how painful it is, holds some meaning which, if we understand, can help bring a shift in both inner and outer life. In therapy I offer a safe, accepting and non-judgmental space where I hope you will find safety to bring up any issues, emotions, feelings and thoughts such that we can look at what is blocking you from achieving what you want -- whether it is in relationship with yourself or others.

About My Practice

Office Hours
Services
I have experience in helping people with relationship issues, low self-esteem, stress, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, grief and loss, depression, addictions, work-life balance, divorce, communication skills, etc. I'm trained and certified to work with domestic violence (DV) survivors. My general approach to therapy is integrative/spiritual/transpersonal. I integrate various techniques, including creative expression, art therapy, mindfulness, CBT and somatic work. My areas of interest include individuals, couples, children and families. I also facilitate support groups for single-again Indian/South East Asian women, and adults who were abused as children. I offer therapy in English, Hindi and Gujarati. I welcome you to call me for free phone consultation.

I know it can be scary to reach out for help, especially in a culture that tells us we should be able to solve our problems on our own and, if we can’t, there is something wrong with us. Well, I’m here to challenge that culture that values independence more than interdependence, because as humans we are designed to be connected with others in relationships. And sometimes the first relationship that needs our focused attention is the one we have with ourselves in order to ‘show up’ in our relationships with others.
