Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
In Transpersonal Psychology, the process of achieving a Peak Experience is called Self-Actualization. Self-actualized people tend to focus on problems outside themselves; have a clear sense of what is true and false; are spontaneous and creative; and are not bound strictly by social conventions. To achieve these goals, sometimes certain aspects of an individual need to change. I believe that every person has a strong desire to realize his or her full potential, to reach their level of Self-Actualization. I use mindfulness techniques, dream work, vision process, and psycho-educational material to facilitate deeper change in individuals. I also use the Solution Focused Model – building on clients’ strength and empowering them. Everyone has the inner resources for growth and healing, and the purpose of therapy is to help remove the obstacles to achieving this.
