Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
"The good life is a process, not a state of being. It is a direction not a destination" (Carl Rogers 1902-1987). Carl Rogers was and still is an influential Psychologist and one of the founders of Humanistic Psychology. I believe as he did in the importance of empowering my clients to achieve their full potential and that within each of my clients lies the resources to achieve this goal. Therefore, my objective as your therapist is to create a supportive and safe environment in which you can explore your emotional needs and overcome barriers that may prevent you from experiencing a more fulfilling life. Taking a humanistic approach which focuses on self-concept and self-actualization, I often integrate complementary methodologies and techniques, with emphasis on my client's strengths and internal resources. With compassion and understanding, I work with each individual to help build on strengths and attain the personal growth my clients are committed to accomplishing. If you would like to know more about my life process, I encourage you to visit my website at http://www.therapywithnori.com and click on the link "About Me." At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
