Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I am passionate about the transformative impact of psychotherapy and work from an empathetic and non-judgmental place. My clients are motivated to transform their lives by making changes in both their minds and bodies. Most often I work with young professionals who "have it all together" but are still struggling with issues from their past, lingering feelings of anxiety or depression or a nagging sense of self-doubt. Many are brought to therapy following a difficult life event such as the end of a relationship or the loss of a loved one. Other times, they are struggling with feeling that they are not living life to the fullest and wonder if there is a way to feel healthier and happier. I create a safe space to explore the issues in your life, providing support, guidance and a route for transformation. Please reach out to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation to discuss next steps and our work together.

Donna J. Shanahan, MA

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101

I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
