~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I work with a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues providing services for depression and anxiety, grief counseling, and parenting support. I also offer couples counseling with an attachment foundation to help build and strengthen a healthy relationship with your partner. I have extensive experience working with children and teens, and enjoy teenagers... really! I use play and art therapy techniques to encourage children and teens to express themselves. Most children find play therapy a lot of fun, and look forward to their weekly sessions. In a comfortable and supportive atmosphere, I offer a personalized approach tailored to each of my clients' individual needs, to help them heal and attain the personal growth they desire.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Regarding my special area of interest and expertise... I understand that discovering a family member is struggling with a mental illness such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, PTSD, or schizophrenia can feel like your world has turned upside down. You may worry about what will happen to your family member when you are gone, and feel concerned about your expectations of an adult child and their experience in life. You might have made plans for your retirement years, and now wonder what the future will be like. You may be involved in making choices about where your adult child will live. You may be wondering about involving your extended circle of support, and considering how to tell friends and family members, and a host of other understandable concerns. I understand these questions and challenges, and am available to help you sort through these concerns, explore your options, and help you make choices that are in your family's best interest.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In addition to offering counseling sessions, I also offer free, one-hour workshops in the community, focusing on mental health issues. My workshops explore how mental illness impacts the entire family, essential self-care strategies for family and caregivers, and share local, supportive resources. My current workshop is entitled, "Hope Again: The Road to Family Recovery." These presentations invite participant discussion, offering those in attendance an opportunity to share their unique experience with the group if they so desire. Sometimes it is helpful to attend a workshop and discover you are not alone in your situation. Please contact me if you are interested in scheduling a free workshop in your community, or attending one in the near future.
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101
I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
