Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
When working with the child/adolescent population he believes that combining cognitive behavioral interventions with an emphasis in psychodynamic awareness is the most effective way in working with and reaching children and their families. Systemically, many teens push boundaries and challenge rules. That’s what they naturally do – it’s their job. The therapist’s job is to help the family reconstruct and organize into a healthy ontological being.

When working with adults and couples there must be an awareness of where the client is at this point in their lives; an awareness of their needs; and an understanding of how they have brought their childhood history or life patterns into their current relationships. The question before starting therapy and counseling sessions is “Where are you now as we go through this journey (or short path)” more so than what theoretical approach will be used for mental health and analytical services.
