Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
You've likely tried everything, even procrastinated, before considering therapy. When your own efforts at self-help aren't enough, it's often because something internal is getting in your way that either you don't realize or is difficult to change.

I work best if you're curious about yourself and want to understand your difficulties more deeply - whether depression, anxiety, a failed relationship or wanting more satisfaction in life. Curiosity will help you and I better see and understand the aspects of your emotional life that may not be readily apparent yet are creating difficulties and interfering with your happiness or success.

My approach is direct and collaborative, focusing on your strengths, resources and goals for therapy. In addition to working with women for a range of issues from self-esteem to infertility, I also enjoy working with men - most often struggling with relationship or career issues.

My office is located in the Laurel Heights neighborhood of San Francisco, also convenient to southern Marin. Please see my website for additional information about my services, approach, background and fees.

At the core of many personal issues lie old messages of your sense of worth. Those messages conveyed to you while growing-up that minimized your self-esteem. The journey inward toward your past can often be frightening and disheartening. By slowly revisiting the wounded part of yourself, old repetitive behaviors can cease to exist. A new sense of kindness toward yourself will begin to emerge. Allow me to travel with you to discover what is buried deep inside of your soul, exploring what keeps you from becoming all that you want to be.
