About My Practice

Office Hours
Low sex marriage? Lost desire? Do you feel distant from your partner - more like a roommate? Alternative relationship(S)? Painful sex? Erection or orgasm problems? Trying to go forward from midlife with positive, fulfilling self-image and relationships? Is disability or chronic illness impacting your family or partnerships? You are not alone. Do you have sexual abuse in your past? Sex and love should NOT be painful or scary! I urge you to call. You CAN thrive - not just survive. As a sex therapist, I was first a generalist like other psychotherapists, and became a specialist in sexuality, intimacy issues, sexual health, and relationships for all ages, orientations, and abilities, including modern monogamy and consensual nonmomogamy. Sex therapy certification (see involves much study and experience in directly addressing the sexual and intimate aspects of personal and relationship problems. Often these problems are intertwined with other issues such as communication styles, anxiety, depression, PTSD, background, and more, or being generally overwhelmed and stressed out. Let's address these aspects as needed along with helping specific sexual symptoms. These days, families come in all configurations and types. Expectations and demands of modern marriage and relationships exceed most people's abilities - unless they are superpeople! Children don't come with instruction booklets, and neither do relationships, whether traditional or alternative. Our culture is fairy tale oriented, helping us grow up to believe that loving the right person is all it takes to succeed as partner, friend, lover, parent, co-home owner, career person, and elderly parent caretaker - all at once- for decades! It's no wonder that intimacy in relationships suffers under the weight of these important life responsibilities and roles. Healing, tools, and skills are needed in addition to love and connection. None of these things are longitudinally automatic, even if you experienced exciting connection when first meeting a partner. Reaching out for help is difficult for many people. Seeking help with sexuality, intimacy, and alternative relationships can be even more nerve-wracking! These areas are included in my expertise and It is part of my job to help you feel comfortable and safe discussing your intimate life and the often painful and confusing situations many people struggle with. We will work together to help you heal as needed, learn new skills, repair relationships and self, and go forward with solid changes in place. Call or email for an initial discussion of your needs, get answers to questions, and schedule a consult. There is hope and a way forward for you, that we can work together to discover and develop. or email

AASECT Certification - professional sex counselor/clinical sexologist Arthritis Foundation - support group leader for arthritis/chronic illness/disabilities Amer Assoc of Sexuality Educators, Counselors & Therapists is the only internationally recognized certifying organization for sex therapy. Certification requires minimum of a Master's degree in counseling, fulfillment of required coursework, hundreds of hours of supervised counseling with sexual issues of couples and individuals. Arthritis support group leadership is a certification once offered by the Arthritis Foundation. Due to growing insurance concerns, "support" group is no longer a category of training offered, but certification does not have expiration. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis, have run groups and educational meetings, and offer private counseling to persons with disabilities, chronic illness including arthritis and related diseases and their families.
