Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
I have been privileged to have worked with families and children for over 30 years. In this capacity, I have done assessments, diagnoses, and treatments for children, adolescents, and adults. I have had opportunity to work with many diverse populations. I believe that everyone has the potential to do something well if they are willing to explore their possibilities of being the person God intended them to be and then to practice their special gifts. I endeavor to meet each client at their level of spiritual need. I respect the uniqueness of each person. Also, I believe in ruling out physical ailments before a client undertakes therapy. I believe that everyone who comes for counseling is seeking change in their life to live more genuinely and happily. I believe in taking a holistic approach to counseling which includes the spiritual, psychological, emotional, and physical aspects of each individual.

Donna J. Shanahan, MA

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Pasadena, CA 91101

I am a Marriage and Family therapist in private practice. I work with individuals, couples, and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual’s family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child, and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories.
