Here at the Intimacy, Sexuality & Gender Center of Monterey, the General Public and Professional Communities will discover comprehensive information about, Psychotherapy, Sex Therapy, Gender Therapy, Sexual Abuse Therapy and Sacred Sexuality, Professional Supervision, Groups, Workshops and Retreats in Monterey, California. In addition to General Sex Therapy, ISGC offers a unique and specialized focuses on the LGBT, KINK and other sexual and gender minorities. ISGC is most famous for its innovative work with Male Survivors of Sexual Abuse. We are the home of the first and longest running Male Survivor Support Group on the Central Coast. ISGC is unique, offering the first and only Professionally led Transgender Support Group that meets the WPATH Standards of Care. We have designed a myriad of treatments and groups to meet the specific needs of every patient. We are innovative in our response by offering groups and workshops that reflect the needs of the community. ISGC is very proud to now offer Caregivers a home. We have designed groups and workshops for their specific needs. Stephen L. Braveman, LMFT, DST, Founder and Director, has been a leader in his field for over thirty-two years. Now, he and his partner, Wanda M. Braveman, Office Manager and Patient Advocate, have reinvented the Center, offering more groups and services to meet the needs of the community! A Certified Diplomate of Sex Therapy, Gender and Sexual Abuse Specialist, and Tantra Educator, Stephen’s work speaks for itself. Stephen’s book, “CPR for Your Sex Life: How to Breathe Life into a Dead, Dying or Dull Sex Life” continues to teach, fascinate and enthrall readers! Stephen has been nationally recognized by the National Organization On Male Sexual Abuse for co-leading the first national retreat for men who have been sexually abused. He has frequently lectured in the public on a variety of abuse issues and his writings and interviews have appeared in such places as Men's Health Magazine, KSBW T.V. and KSGO Radio. He wrote for The Healing Woman Foundation, Treating Abuse Today Journal and the Survivors of Educator Sexual Abuse and Misconduct Emerge Organization. Stephen was the President of the Monterey County Chapter of the California Association of Marriage & Family Therapists, a active member of the American Association of Sex Educators , Counselors and Therapists and The California Coalition On Sexual Offending. Finally, Stephen has taught Sex Therapy courses at Chapman University and Undergraduate Sexuality courses at Hartnell College for many years. Finally, he was the President of the Monterey County Chapter of CAMFT - year 2002.
