Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
Gaining a deeper understanding of the way you feel and think and how you see yourself can help you work through obstacles and create positive changes in your life. I see it every day. By providing a safe environment to explore yourself, together we will uncover the emotional truth of your symptoms, which will lead to change and healing. And yes, this can be uncomfortable at times but the rewards are worth it. I work in collaboration with you and at your pace. As a musician, I have particular insight for artists and musicians. As a former clinical director of a teen hotline, I provide a comfortable environment for adolescents. I also specialize in infertility and adoption issues. I divide my time between therapy, mentoring students and MFT interns, and making music. My desire for self growth motivates me to actively pursue new concepts in psychology. I accept Blue Shield and I provide insurance reimbursement forms for other insurance providers. I also accept credit cards. Video chat is available for clients who travel. I am a supervisor for MFT Interns. These therapists are avail for a lower fee and work under my guidance.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
San Rafael, CA

My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, supportive, and interactive. My work is based on establishing a safe environment where trust can grow. I view symptoms as a way to call attention to unrecognized needs and unexpressed feelings. The goals of treatment include; learning to identify and express emotions, learning to set appropriate boundaries, developing skills such as self-soothing and impluse control and improving self-esteem.
