Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
If you are seeking help, it can be an overwhelming and humbling experience. It is also a step toward the dignity and self-respect that come from facing and working through your pain and suffering. Finding a good match, someone you can trust, is essential. You need someone who can really understand. If you are struggling in your life, struggling in your relationships, you don't have to do that alone. Together, we will work to identify and overcome the obstacles, clearing the way to healthier relationships and a happier, more productive life. With empathy, accountability, respect and confrontation, I help you identify what motivates your behavior and the obstacles in your way of a happier life. My approach is holistic, facilitating the integration of each client and considering their personal growth in the context of their entire life and relationships. I work with adults, children and adolescents. Using a variety of treatment approaches, I tailor our work together to your needs, symptoms, and goals. Working collaboratively with you, we create a comprehensive, individualized plan designed to support you in improving your relationships, emotional, mental, and physical health. Additionally, Tamson is a divorce and child custody mediator. She provides an alternative to the adversarial divorce or child custody proceeding by helping clients develop solutions that will meet the best interests of both parties and especially the needs of their children. In her personal life, Tamson is committed to living in integrity with her own values, including doing work that she believes will benefit others. Being a therapist focused on helping clients create deeper and more meaningful relationships with themselves and with others is an important part of living in alignment with that value. Tamson enjoys being outdoors, yoga, gardening, home restoration, reading, traveling, photography and knitting. Tamson is an avid “snail mail” correspondent, and keeps in touch with family and friends who live out of town, out of state or out of the country with her ever expanding collection of cards and stationery.
