Personal Statement:
Theresa M. Davis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a private practice in Folsom, California. She obtained her B.A. degree in Psychology from the University of California, Irvine in 1992, and her M.A. degree in Counseling Psychology from the California State University, Sacramento in 1996, graduating with honors as a member of Psi Chi (the National Honor Society for Psychology) and Phi Kappa Phi. She has worked in mental health settings since 1990 including a school for emotionally disturbed children, agencies working with at-risk youth, a foster family agency, and an out-patient clinic for families and chronic, mentally ill adults. In her practice she focuses on issues relating to families, children, adolescents, parenting, foster care and adoption, couples, infertility, grief and loss, learning and school problems, career and employment problems, crisis intervention, stress management, and self-esteem/personal growth. She uses a family systems and solution focused approach to empower her clients toward successful outcomes.
