Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
"Where There Is No Vision, The People Perish" (Sioux Proverb) Everyone has moments of experiencing significant loss or struggle with enacting change in their lives. Feelings of fear, anger, sadness and confusion are often part of this experience. I've been effective helping clients manage their anxiety and depression while facilitating their skillful movement through difficult transitions. Committing to therapy is a "hero's journey" and I will act as your ally as you emerge from troubled times with a deeper sense of self-acceptance, wisdom and renewed connection with others. Regaining your perspective and rediscovering your vision, vitality and voice is possible and I will help you keep the hope in reaching these goals. I believe that therapy needs to be a creative process that includes accessing knowledge from the somatic, affective and cognitive aspects of self. Integrating these resources helps us find our authentic voice and vision. This frees us from old patterns and empowers us with greater choice and better decisions. We become our own authors. I'm an integrative therapist whose therapeutic style and orientation is varied and versatile. I believe in combining the knowledge and skills from a variety of transformative modalities. As an collaborator with the client I practice a psych-educational style in the belief that knowledge is power. I have great success with male clients.

Barbara Witney, MA
Donna Yorke, M.A.

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
Temecula, CA

I’ve been in private practice in Temecula since 1990. I work with individuals, couples and families on a variety of issues, using a straight-forward approach to problem solving. While I listen with empathy, I am an “active” therapist, meaning I make suggestions, give direction and homework to partner with my clients so they can solve their problems in a timely, effective manner.
