Personal Statement

Personal Statement:
My work confirms the strength of the human spirit! In my practice, I continually see difficult circumstances being surmounted. My adult clients typically are doing well, but are facing an important transition for which brief therapy is sufficient. Clients with difficult backgrounds can benefit from longer term therapy. With both adults and adolescents I am there to listen without judgment, to facilitate communication, to bring resolution, to support, to challenge, to educate and to be an advocate. Sometimes it is best to work with individuals; at other times, it is advantageous to work with couples or families. In addition, I use altered states (e.g. hypnosis and EMDR) in a safe way that consistently helps my clients through problems ranging from low self-esteem to major trauma in a highly efficient, effective way. IT IS DIFFICULT TO FIND OUR BUILDING. YOU WILL NEED THESE DETAILED DIRECTIONS: DIRECTIONS TO VICKI MARLOW’S OFFICE: 3746 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette Set your GPS to 3722 Mt. Diablo Blvd., Lafayette, CA From Mt. Diablo Blvd., take the turn up the hill on the west or Oakland side of 3722. When you have to turn, go left where you see the one-way arrow and the sign for Oak Hill West behind the condos. Do not stop at the rear of our building. Continue to follow the street along the row of buildings until they end at a light grey apartment building. Go right and then immediately right again. We are in the third building on the right, #3746. Our suite is on the ground level on the right hand corner #200. I will see you in the waiting room, which you will see when you enter. If there is a change in your schedule, PLEASE CALL TO CANCEL AT LEAST 24 HRS. IN ADVANCE AT (925) 254-4807. You will probably get an answering machine. Please leave a message. Thanks!

Are you stressed out? Do you sometimes find yourself snapping at your children? Would you describe your relationship with your husband as “distant”? Or do you feel like you are going to lose it if someone doesn’t give you a break? Being a mother, wife, or daughter can stretch us to our limits. During times like these it can feel like the world has been turned “upside down”. There is HOPE! You don’t have to figure this out alone. Let’s talk and see if I can help you make things “right side up” again.
