Personal Statement:
Areas of specialty include adult chemical dependency, sexuality, trauma, depression, and anxiety. Strong emphasis on cognitive process, assertiveness training, and reality therapy. Theory revolves around Reichian, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Jungian approach. I consider systemic influence and the client's personal values as they apply uniquely to each individual. My background includes more than 11 years experience in crisis intervention and in-patient psychiatry, individual, and family work in a number of settings including public school counseling, community-based clinic, HIV-STD education and counseling, and 12-step and risk reduction models for chemical dependency. My doctoral dissertation investigated the numerous contributing variables to psychological adjustment post-sexual abuse in children and adolescents. I have a comfortable office conveniently located in Noe Valley.
